A transportation and inventory portal for a supply chain

Moving product between plants, suppliers and customers means dozens of people keeping schedules, carriers and stock positions in step. Mentarium built a supply-chain company a web portal, on Oracle APEX and Fusion Cloud, where planners schedule transfers and each plant, supplier and customer manages its own inventory, demand and supply.

Implementation scope

For planners

Schedule transfers of products between plants, suppliers and customers, manage the carriers that move them, and reuse schedule templates for recurring movements instead of building each one by hand.

For plants, suppliers and customers

Each party manages its own inventory, demand and supply in the portal, so the planner works from live positions rather than emailed spreadsheets.

Dashboards

Operational dashboards give planners and management a shared view of scheduled movements, stock and demand.

How it was built

Oracle APEX for the portal, integrated with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications; PL/SQL for the business logic in the database; JavaScript and CSS for the interface behaviour and look.

What changed

Scheduling and inventory information moved from scattered spreadsheets and messages into one portal that every party updates, which gave planners a reliable picture and cut the coordination effort around each transfer.

Let’s talk about your next implementation.
